Ich fülle gerade die Bewerbung für ein Austauschjahr mit dem Rotary Club aus und bin am Brief angekommen, es wäre echt richtig nett wenn sich jemand mal meinen Brief durchlesen könnte und sagen könnte ob er zu lang oder zu kurz ist, Verbesserungsvorschläge usw. Weil ich bin mir echt nicht sicher ob der jetzt so gut gelungen ist 
Dear Host Family, Dear Host Club,
I am very thankful that you take your time to read my letter. I am very interested in other cultures and would like to find more about them. Hopefully I can soon get the experience of an exchange year. Now I want to tell you a little bit about me and my Life. I’m ***** and I’m 16 years old. I live in Germany in a little but comfortable flat with my mother ***** and my big brother ******. My father is called **** and he lives with his wife and his two children not that wide away from us. We often have contact and sometimes i go to him and eat there with his whole family. My father has a little girl called ****, which is 5 years old and a son called *****, which is 7 years old. The children and me often play together whenever I’m there, for me they are like my real brother and sister. My father is from iraq, but lives since over 20 years in germany, he has his own opinion about god and doesn’t believe in islam. My mother and I have a really good realtionship, I can tell her everything and she supports me with everything I want to do. With my brother I have a good friendship, sometimes we’re jogging together or we go shopping. We’re both interested in sports. My family is a very humorous family and we like to make jokes and to laugh. We also have arguments, to which we find a fast solution. Pets are not part of our family but I like almost every pet, even exotic ones except insects, these are the only pets I don’t like. I visit the tenth class of a middle school only ten minutes away from my home, I always walk to school or sometimes ride with a bike. My schedule is filled with 8 different subjects like German, Maths and so on. Our school also have different elective subjects and I have spanish but the years before I went to improvisation theathre and photo group. During the school year I get up at six a.m. and have breakfast, get my clothes on and brush my teeth. At 7:30 a.m. I leave the house. A lot of my friends I got to know in school but I also found friends outside it. We meet to go shopping or just to talk. Also we like to swim, riding a bike or skating on ice. I like to try new activities and different things. At home I have my own room but most of the time I spent in the living room watching TV or doing my homework. In this room my family and I talk to each other and eat together, sometimes we play family games. My religion is evangelical but I have my own opinion about god. I believe in god and also like to pray. On Christmas, new years eve and other special events I visit the church, but I have no problem to go more often to the church. Also I think other religions are very interesting, all my friends have different relgions, like orthodox, islam and many others. Outside of Germany I was in Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria and Austria. To all of them I went with my father and his family. The trips were always between 10 and 14 days long. We experienced the city and relaxed on the beach. In Croatia I tried Parascending and it made a lot of fun. We also went to hiking to on the top of mountains. All these trips were really beautiful and I always liked experiencing other lands.
Now I want to tell you about me and my future. I think my strongest characteristics are that I’m honest but not in a mean way. If there is a problem I always try to find a solution and if I have a argument with someone I always go up to them and try to solve the dispute. What I also like is to help other people in every way I can and I can listen really good to others. My friends tell me that I can make them feel safe for example before a test or something like that. My weakest characteristics are that I’m a little bit stubborn sometimes when I want something but that can also be good, for example if I want to buy something really bad and it’s expensive I can save money really good. Also weak about me is that I’m sometimes a little bit shy at the beginning because I first want to get an idea of somebody. But after some days I really open up. (Sollte ich vielleicht hier noch ein paar ‚Schwächen‘ aufzählen? Aber mir fallen keine ein die man irgendwie gut noch formulieren kann)
I really like to eat healthy but I think there isn’t much food in the world that I don’t like and I love to experience new foods. What I really dislike is if someone isn’t honest with me or let anybody feel like they are something less worth then others. Everyone is something special in their own way I think.
In the future I want to make a higher examination and then I want to study to maybe become an english teacher or a psyologic doctor. I haven’t decided yet. Hopefully I can get to know more about me and what I want to be in future in my Youth Exchange year.
